Historic Zoar Village

Scott was born in Zoar, a descendant of the Sturm and Kappel families, and grew up on a nearby farm. After graduating from Bolivar High School, he attended Ohio State and Cleveland State Universities with an MS degree in Chemical Engineering. Upon retiring from working in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries in New Jersey, he moved with his wife, Marilyn, back to Zoar. He has served on the Village Council and Planning Commission for more than 10 years and on the more recently formed Historic Preservation Commission. Both Scott and Marilyn stay very busy volunteering for village events including the Garden Tour, Home School Days, and the planting and care of the Zoar Garden.
